I have always found it interesting that life exploded on the scene during a period (Cambrian) that coincides with the planets highest temperatures and CO2 levels. Conversely, the Permian Extinction initiated during a time when mother Earth's temps and CO2 levels were the lowest over the last million years. There's something they're not telling us.

Human beings produce Carbon Dioxide every single time they EXHALE ( which plants surely appreciate since they use it to make their food). I think that in order to be consistent with their warped ideology Al Gore, Arnold Schwarzenegger and other Climate Changers like them should stop the practice of BREATHING immediately. At the very least, Leftist politicians and celebrities should limit their flights to once per year to avoid being hypocrites. I've only flown in a jet twice in the last 10 years, and I don't even buy into Man-made climate change crap. Guess what? There's this great new technology called TELECONFERENCING which doesn't produce any plant-food ( I mean CO2) at all.

And that's why we have to paint fear-inducing scenarios on the wall, make simplified dramatic statements, and keep any doubts we have. This "opposite ethical bond", in which we often find ourselves, can not be resolved by any formula. Each of us has to decide for ourselves what the right balance is between being honest on the one hand and being effective on the other. I hope this means both ". - Stephen Schneider, lead author of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, Discover magazine, October 1989.

We currently produce 38 billion tons of carbon which is only carbon dioxide through burning fossil fuels and industry there is an estimated 3 trillion trees worldwide an average tree converts 32kg of carbon into oxygen per year now times 32 x 3 trillion = 96 trillion tons of carbon removed from the atmosphere, which leaves an excess of 95 trillion 5962 billion + of carbon absorbing trees that need carbon but don't get it. The more trees we have the more carbon is needed, when the dinosaur became extinct which happened suddenly the less co2 was produced and the less oxygen was produced stunting tree and animal life worldwide as the less oxygen you have limits growth. Simple isn't it do your own research people climate change is the biggest scam in history. The earth is always moving sometimes we get closer to the sun and sometimes we get further away hence ice ages and city's that are now under water. You have all been had by the biggest scam in history

Science demands an open mind and cautious, fact based analysis. Real science has no profit motive, politics, or religious fervor, and does not follow marching orders from politicians to accept predetermined conclusions. Scientists do not call those who disagree with their theories “deniers” and “heretics,” epithets commonly used by religious zealots. Climate science has become so corrupted by politics and marijuana fueled new age religion that it should now be labeled as garbage science, a giant step below even junk science. Taking advantage of our current state of climate hysteria, professors, universities, environmentalists, journalists, and thousands of green scam businesses are making money by spreading totally unrealistic climate fear. Their jobs, prestige, and way of life depend on government funding to promote the ridiculous idea that humans can control the weather. Global warming gurus Al Gore and Michael E. Mann predicted an end of snow and summer temperatures all the year round, but none of their scare stories have come true. There are no more hurricanes, droughts, floods, forest fires, or tornadoes than normal, and the media’s promotion of climate doom is “fake news” personified. Cold from ice ages and other natural calamities has always been the great killer of life on Earth, not warming, which allows more plants to grow. Asteroid impacts and volcanic eruptions cause global cooling, which wiped out the dinosaurs. Large numbers of giant dinosaurs could only exist when Earth bloomed with much higher atmospheric CO2 levels than we have today. Plants eat CO2, which makes them grow faster, bigger, and more resistant to drought. Dinosaurs required spectacularly fast growing vegetation to fill their high caloric needs, and that would be impossible with our current, relatively low atmospheric CO2 levels. Increasing CO2 in our atmosphere can only help our agriculture and forest industry, and it will not make the Earth significantly warmer. That fact was proven when the Earth suffered severe ice ages when atmospheric CO2 levels were many times higher than they are today. It took nature millions of years to evolve California’s giant sequoia trees and lodgepole pine. Both those species require forest fires to reproduce. What does that fact tell you? On average, lighting sparked fires swept through California forests every 5 to 15 years before Europeans arrived. Fire releases seeds and enriches the soil with nutrients that seedlings need to grow. Climate change enthusiasts tell us that humans feeding plants the vital substance they need to survive, carbon dioxide, is the cause of deadly forest fires, not years of fire suppression and logging bans that produced an excess of forest fuel. If you don’t allow free roaming forest fires, then you must carefully and wisely selectively cut the forests; it’s as simple as that. According to NASA’s own raw satellite data, there has been no global warming since 1998, and there has been significant global cooling over the last two years, which produced record low temperatures this Thanksgiving. Politically motivated data faking was a tool of the Obama Administration, and honesty must be reinstated to all government agencies. In the world of religion and dirty politics, facts don’t matter; only emotions matter. Fundamentalist Christians have End Times Theology. Secular Humanist Leftists have Climate Change Theology. We have all tasted the forbidden capitalist fruits of fossil fuels, and now we will all burn in the hell of global warming unless we wage a Socialist crusade against carbon, the atom that powers energy production in every living cell. Just ask Congresswoman-elect Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez or almost any “environmentalist.” Humans are made of carbon. Anything we do to fight our molecular creator is suicide. All our food is made of carbon with the aid of fossilized carbon fuels. The net result of our irrational war on carbon is food cost inflation and even more global starvation. Millions have already died because of the biofuel hoax alone. Let’s not make matters even worse. Quite funny! However, the opposite is happening: the Sun is calming and the planets are changing. The Earth is getting colder and not just because we're now in winter... well, we will be in winter on about the 22nd of December, so that snow you are seeing is just a test and Saudi Arabia is enjoying the floods and it's still cold in Australia. But trumpistas don't believe it's getting colder, either. Either way, it would cost them $$$ and credibility. They sure aren't going to take responsibility for having _poisoned_ so much of the Earth that there is realistically nowhere to hide now... stock up on chocolate!

+jenpenn22 It makes sense. If a person _actually believes_ (and is it offensive to question the depth of a Christian's beliefs?) that God "has a plan" (and I was Christian once, so I know they're supposed to think that) then why on Earth would we or should we trust Earth in the hands of those who genuinely think that delivering us to our extinction is the same thing as delivering us to God? Why would we trust them to change things when it's supposedly "all part of the plan?" Do they believe or not? Do they think bringing us closer to Revelations is a good thing or not? My grandfather is one of the most zealous baptists you'll ever meet, and I know what his answer would be: a quiet, chuckling, furtive, and yet one-hundred-percent "Yes". Vor 8 Tage
jenpenn22
jenpenn22

+Cody Stanford I'll explain my comment briefly, feel free to Google though. First, religious zealots particularly anti intellectual religious groups who have risen to power in powerful large governments have historically brought them down. The best example of this would be Alexandria. At it's height it would obtain every piece of written word to pass through it's ports. It amassed a library full of the greatest thoughts of the time from every country that traded with them or their neighbors in the Mediterranean. The library grew in infamy and they had scholars there, even women, who taught the masses all about science, math and philosophy. There was a religious backlash to this that eventually led to zealots overrunning the library and burning what would have been an amazing multicultural wealth of knowledge. All because they feared that education would bring the people farther from God. We are seeing that same anti intellectual sentiment right now. Fighting inconvenient science, scarier still, encouraging religious youth not to attend college for fear the education will make them liberal. The more they learn, the more they question their upbringing with critical thinking skills/an exposure to other cultures. Secondly, the far right in this country is largely evangelical/very religious. Particularly Christian. If you research you will see, because they don't even try and disguise it, that support for Israel is an attempt to bring about armageddon. They believe if they support Isreal it will eventually lead to them overtaking Palestine and destroying the temple mount. In their prophecy they believe that the temple of Solomon has to be rebuilt there to bring about the end times. It's literally their goal to bring about the end of the world so, for evangelicals they can being about the rapture, for other Christians simply the end times. It simply doesn't surprise me they would actively fight against the rest of us trying to save the planet when they spend so much energy actively trying to bring about armageddon. Hope that helps. Look up what I'm talking about, it's scary but fascinating.

OneillSG7 - oh my. We are taking this personally, aren't we. Sagan was about when environmental awareness wasn't so mainstream. And he was mainly an authority on the cosmos. Attenborough is more about global conservation, and people are now paying attention because of the very real threats to the planet from climate change. I can't remember Sagan talking about anything like that.

This planet we live on is amazing and see inspiring. Even if we fall to change the course of the climate change, it will continue to have life flourish in it. Some species will sure, some will apt, some will mystery, and new ones will appear. Our world will always be awesome.

A Climate of Denial (aka Banning Trump's Gas Tricks) Don Trump trusts his gut more than his brain For it covers, by far, more terrain With a massive expanse Even bigger than France It requires gastric bands to restrain And though his choice might seem quite quaint His gut is one thing his brain ain't It is always quite full As a general rule Though what's in it is not for the faint The inner workings of Donald Trump His intestine's a greenhouse gas pump That in just a short while Can produce quite a pile Sarah Huckabee's huge data dump! And now that she has what she needs To fertilise all of her seeds Of doubt that she sows The debt that she owes Is to Trump for his excess of greed Yet if only they thought with their heads Things might be a bit better it's said But that might not be true There is shit in there too All over and it's evenly spread

+Antarath Some of the stupidity is due to http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ostrich_effect (By pretending and denying it, they keep people busy arguing. The truth is simple --> they benefit from this, and hope that they can buy there way out of issues later, with the income they accrued.)

Keep in mind that the Earth should theoretically be in a cooling period right now... yet it's heating up at rates that defy the usual natural change over time significantly. So maybe, just maybe, it's not all natural?

+Cody Stanford Yes, climate will change. But human actions (at least in the last ~100 years) have had an adverse effect on it --> _climate change_ due to negligent human actions. Human's can change their actions, i.e. in order to promote a more favourable climate change.

+epostrophe "over whelming consensus" of a minority of people who work for the government supporting its agenda to raise taxes by targeting corporations who have a carbon foot print sounds like a conflict of interest. This is why we are seeing the lowest gas prices in the US we have seen in years and why france is burning due to the protest of the Carbon tax following the Paris accord being put into effect.

+Joshua Weickum But you can't get rid of him (them) easily. In the UK, it looks like we're heading for a vote of no confidence in the government. They screw up, there's a general election. Right or wrong, they can be held to account at any time and they *all* go. No messing around.

P.S. If you look at defense spending for the US (500 Billion) compared to a tomahawk missile of which 59 were used in Syria 1million each (total 59 million) and an Apollo launch today would cost maybe 2 -4 Billion. I would like to contend the notion that space takes away money from other things... Look how much money that war is taking away from everything :)
